With nine years experience in this business, I do have some understanding of the technologies. I have worked in network operation centers in the U.S., Germany, and the U.K., and I have been certified in both Cisco (CCNA) and Microsoft (MCP Win2K). I have worked on backbone and access networks, and I have experience in a wide variety of protocols and platforms. My specialty has been Nortel Passport.<br /><br /><br /><br />Through the years I have gained much experience in technical writing. I have written procedures and manuals for upgrades, troubleshooting, security, and daily maintenance. And of course, trouble ticket documentation has been a part of my daily work.<br /><br /><br /><br />Now I am turning my attention to this part of the industry. Rather than maintain a narrow focus on my own areas of expertise, I am looking to expand my reach and offer writing, editing, and consulting services throughout the telecommunications/IT fields. Combining my creative abilities (I was once a Poet-In-Residence) with my technical skills, I am carving out a new niche for myself in the field of technical communication.
